The weft thread was spun in Kashmir where spinning is a traditional culture using handlooms, the warp thread for this shawl was spun in Kullu as the pandemic restrictions made the movement of yarns to weavers very difficult, creating a unique combination of cultures Embroidered in the Ghanderbal District of Kashmir which is a mecca for fine needlework. The thread was dyed in Hawal Srinagar.
The fabric was woven by Mr Abid Khan and embroidered in the Ghanderbal District of Kashmir by Mr Hamid Ahmed and will have taken approximately 6 months to complete.
